There we go now, with one of the most inspiring Turkish artist: mehmet guleryuz.
I cant deny that his name and his popularty was one of the first thngs that drag me into the painting world. Every exhibit or art gallery i see his paintings, something unlimited something effusive comes from my inside. i simply cant fit in my body! Seeing his art makes me cryful. (if there is a word as such :)
look at sahil guvenlik (coast guard) for example. His kind of early paintings from 1980s. The intensivity of colour and strikes makes me breathless! think about 80s with absolutely no internet and no HD quality on tv. This could be the only way of seeing colors in world!! How else??? prints around people were likely to be flu and hmm, dull!
blue. is the color of this very sunday. ;)

Is it the begining, or just the painting?

Before and after Van Gogh Alive
And whats the difference?
Not much really. I spent couple of hours on the way to/from the exhibit but whats left behind is really not more then a bunch of projected impression and power point like the 'art'.
I was expecting more of creativity, better music and may be the third dimention into the paintings. There were few moments where the projections were aligned that makes us see the integrity between different 'canvas'es , but besides this i didnt see the art in digital. It was like a cheap try to reflect one of the greatest artists of the time.
That would be great if exhibit had real paintings somewhere. These slides simply didnt have the competence to stand on their own.
Hmm, moral of the story. I didnt like it

Van Gohh in istanbul
Planning to write on Turkish painters, i am quite distracted by this new exhibition. Its Van Gogh in a different way - no frame, no boundaries and no q' s to squuze to get a glimpse of the painting :)
One of the pharma comps of Turkey is bringing van gogh unusual to Istanbul. They will exhibit his paitngis like a living world. With music, with 3d - that you will be able to walk withn the fields of his.. etc. Named Van Gogh Alive Digital
I am really looking forward to see it today. ;)

Paint, or not to. Stare or not
It was only couple of years ago i did visit a museum on something. There was a painting on the sideway caught my attention.
Honestly, it was more then the attention
Cant remember the artist, or the theme, but i still feel the very same exitement and the mindful sheme. As years pass, the feeling is only left between me and the painting.
Yay i am not an artist, not that a good writer neighter. I just had to find ways to share my feelings with other. Remembering the name was a good start.
That kicked me off, and i started to note down the names. the paintings and the themes.
I am not a specialist, or an art history geeg. I love turkish painters, i love their conflict with the society, i love their internal ups and downs. And love seeing it on the canvas.
Thus is the my first blog. Will follow the list of painters. My favourites.
